As temperatures rise to the mid-30s with humidity reaching into the 40s, Pelham residents requiring a place to escape the heat can do so at Fire Station #1 on Highway 20. As a designated cooling centre, the fire station provides reprieve from the heat for residents from 8:30 a.m.
