Current details: 
Winter weather travel advisory in effect for this afternoon and evening.

This winter weather travel advisory has been upgraded from a special weather statement that was previously in effect.

Hazards:
Snow and ice pellets, with total amounts near 5 cm.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 centimetres per hour, particularly during the evening commute.
Reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow and slippery surfaces due to accumulating snow.
Strong easterly winds gusting up to 70 km/h this afternoon and this evening.

This afternoon and this evening. 

Discussion:
Snow is expected to begin this afternoon and may be heavy at times. The snow may become mixed with ice pellets early this evening before transitioning to light rain or drizzle near midnight tonight. There is also a risk of freezing rain this evening.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
