Tall grass and weed maintenance reminder
Town of Pelham Notice
Pursuant to the Town of Pelham Clean Yards By-law, as amended, please be advised that:
Every owner of property in the Town of Pelham shall cut, trim or remove the grass and weeds whenever the growth of the grass or weeds exceeds two hundred (200) millimetres (8 inches) in height except on land used for agricultural purposes.
Prior to taking any remedial action, a By-law Officer will give the owner notice, which is deemed to be good and sufficient service, by ordinary mail, registered mail, email or hand-delivered to the address of the owner according to the last revised Assessment Roll of the subject property. The notice may also be posted at the subject property, and such service shall be deemed good and sufficient service.
ONLY ONE WARNING NOTIFICATION WILL BE ISSUED PER CALENDAR YEAR FOR EACH PROPERTY THAT IS IN VIOLATION OF THE BY-LAW. FOR EVERY SUBSEQUENT VIOLATION THEREAFTER, THE PROCESS WILL PROCEED
DIRECTLY TO THE TOWN ARRANGING THE CUTTING OF THE PROPERTY WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE.
The following administrative fees, penalties, and costs can/will be charged against a subject property depending on the remedial action taken by the Town:

Violation Notice Mailing Fee | $25.00 |
Administrative Penalty | $250.00 per day for each day the violation exists. |
