"Sales Shack" recognized by Beautification Committee Thank You campaign

Rypstra family at the Sales Shack stand on effingham street

Submitted by the Pelham Beautification Committee

Cadence Rypstra was eleven years old when she set up a little table on Effingham Street, in front of the family farm, with plants dug up from from her mom’s garden. People stopped to buy the plants from this adorable little girl.  Now, 5 years later, Cadence’s initiative has grown into a flourishing family business.

Cadence’s mom, Rachel explained, ‘I saw the potential in a roadside plant stand and soon our whole family was involved”.

Husband Joel built the shack.  Children Cadence, Jaxsen and Alaryss helped with the growing and selling.  Rachel further said “additional family, friends and local producers supplemented the plant stand with various seasonal plants over a 10 month period”.  (closed January and February)

The Pelham Beautification Committee is excited to acknowledge the Rypstra family and their Sales Shack enterprise.  Located on Effingham Street, between Highway 20 and Canboro Road, The Sales Shack contributes to the beautification of Pelham in a big way!

The Pelham Beautification Committee is an advisory committee to Pelham Council.  The Committee seeks to foster civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community involvement.  The monthly ‘Thank You’ card initiative is one of the Committee’s efforts to inspire the Town’s businesses, organizations and residents to exemplify ideals defined in the Beautification Committee’s Terms of Reference, available at www.pelham.ca/beautification

The Pelham Beautification Committee will name a recipient each month.  Individuals are encouraged to submit potential recipient recommendations to the Pelham Beautification Committee at beautification@pelham.ca
