Remembrance Day Ceremonies in the Town of Pelham

The Sunday prior to Remembrance Day (November 4th) multiple services will be held, starting at 8:00 a.m. at the Fenwick cenotaph in Centennial Park; 9:00 a.m. at the Old Pelham Town Hall cenotaph on Canboro Road and 12:30 p.m Peace Park cenotaph in Fonthill; afterwards the public is welcomed back to the Fonthill Legion for a light lunch.

Local citizens are invited to attend at any one or all of the Pelham cenotaph locations along with local war veterans, civic officials, Legion Members, members of local armed forces regular and reserve units, military cadets, firefighter and police officers and ex- servicemen and women

Wreaths of remembrance poppies are laid by representatives of a wide cross section of community organizations on the memorials and two minutes' silence is are held at each location during a ceremony of remembrance.

As part of Remembrance Sunday an ecumenical observance is held at one of our local churches each year which includes remembrance themed contemplation and prayers for peace among the nations of the world. This year Holy Trinity Anglican Church is the host venue for this special service that is open to the general public and scheduled for 10:30 am.

A service on Nov. 11 will be held at the Legion on Highway 20, starting at 10:45 a.m.
