Recorded message from Mayor Junkin to reach residents March 26, 2020
As part of a communications strategy employed by the Region of Niagara and local municipalities, residents of Pelham may receive a recorded phone message from Mayor Marvin Junkin encouraging them to stay home to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community.
Some residents may be weary of recorded messages during the COVID-19 pandemic, as various scams have been reported, however, the Town of Pelham would like to assure residents that this recording from Mayor Junkin is an authorized message.
At this time, the Town of Pelham would like to remind everyone to:
- Stay Home Niagara, avoid non-essential trips in the community, and when you have to go out for trips like groceries try to go out once a week if you can and keep your distance of six feet apart.
- If you’re returning from travel anywhere outside of Canada, including the United States, you must self-isolate and stay home for 14 days
- Social distancing can lead to social isolation - be sure to call, text, or e-mail your friends, family and neighbours to see what support they may need
- Niagara’s governments, businesses and community organizations are united in the fight to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Niagara. It’s important that we all step up and do our part.
