Meridian Community Centre capital fundraising campaign surpasses $3 million dollar goal
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 17, 2018
Pelham, ON –The Town of Pelham has exceeded its fundraising goal of $3 million dollars for the Meridian Community Centre.
Announced at Pelham Town Council on July 16, the target was surpassed thanks to major and community gifts.
“The Town greatly appreciates the support from the community,” said Mayor Dave Augustyn. “It is heartwarming to see how citizens, community groups, and business leaders have come together to embrace this project. Council and I are thrilled to have reached our goal, and are grateful of the generosity of our community.”
On Saturday, July 14, the community walked through the doors of the state of the art facility for the first time, taking advantage of the sneak peek, self-guided tours organized by Pelham staff.
The excitement of the tours has spurred the next phase of fundraising: the community and seat naming campaign. To date, over 30 families and businesses have contributed to the $2,500 or more community campaign, and the soon-to-be-launched seat naming campaign, which allows for the naming of a seat in the Accipter Arena, has generated great interest.
For more information on remaining naming opportunities, to join the community campaign and receive recognition on the stunning donor wall, or to claim naming your own seats, visit ourmcc.ca or call the Town to be redirected.
The official opening celebrations of the Meridian Community Centre will take place in September. More information will be shared leading up to this wonderful community celebration.
