Haist street arena public information sessions: recap and next steps

Preferred Plan

On Monday, February 11, 2019, the Town of Pelham hosted two public information session on the Haist Street arena lands.

The sessions - designed to provide a recap and update of the process undertaken by the Town to develop a preferred development plan for the land and financial update – welcome roughly 150 residents over the course of the afternoon (1-3 p.m.) and evening (6-8 p.m.) sessions.

Barb Wiens, director of community planning and development, presented the background and history on the 1120 Haist Street property, including information from the facilities and condition assessments and their outcomes. Wiens also explained how, through the charrette process, the preferred plan was created. You can view the report here.

Teresa Quinlin, acting CAO and town treasurer, provided an update on the financial impact the sale of the property, including a broader picture of how the sale impacts Town finances. You can view her report here.

As this process continues, updates will be shared on the Town website. In the coming days, video from the sessions and a poll/survey will be uploaded to the Town’s website.

Residents are encouraged to contact the Mayor and Councillors with feedback on 1120 Haist Street.
