Free Family Day Fun at the Pelham Arena

Pelham, ON – The Town of Pelham invites you to a day of free family fun on Monday, February 19, 2018, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Pelham Arena (1120 Haist Street).

Celebrating Family Day, the Town is hosting free public skates, a community expo, children’s snowshoe races, and the battle of the Golden Boot hockey game, where Pelham firefighters take on Pelham Minor Hockey coaches for the ultimate bragging rights.

“Engagement and participation are important pillars in our community’s foundation,” said Jodi Hendriks, culture and community enhancement programmer. “Thanks to our community partners and sponsors, we’re able to gather as a community to enjoy a day of family-filled, free fun. This will be the last year we host activities at the Pelham Arena; it’s another opportunity to make some great memories.”

All activities are free of charge thanks to sponsors Fitness 9-1-1 and Peter Piper’s Pubhouse, and a donation to Pelham Cares will get you admission to the Golden Boot game.

At the Pelham Community Expo, you can expect to learn more about events, parks and trails, transit, camps, arena programs, service clubs, Town Hall, sports clubs, fitness classes, festivals and much more.

Children’s Snow Shoe Races
A wonderful past time winter activity you don’t see very often in southern Ontario. Bring your kids out to participate in the snow shoe races from 12:00 – 12:30pm. They will be held outside of the arena with snow or without snow so bundle up!

Golden Boot Hockey Game
The Second Showdown of Pelham Volunteer. The Pelham volunteer firefighters face off against the Pelham Minor Hockey Association coaches. The game is sponsored by Peter Piper’s Pub House and will start at 1 p.m. at the Pelham Arena. Come cheer on your favorite volunteers as they compete for the Golden Boot.

11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Free Public Skate courtesy of Fitness 9-1-1 & the Town of Pelham
12 – 2 pm. Community Expo – learn about your communities unique services
12 – 12:30 p.m. Children’s Snowshoe races (outside)
1 – 3 p.m. Golden Boot Game – Pelham Volunteer Firefighters vs. Pelham Minor Hockey Coaches
