East Fonthill Land Sells for Record Price

Pelham, ON – Land in East Fonthill has been sold for a record price.
Parkhill Properties – who outlined their affordable, seniors housing project at a Nov. 6, 2017 Council meeting – purchased the parcel of land for a record-setting $743,243 per acre for pre-development approved land.
Parkhill purchased a total of 1.48 acres, for a total of $1.1 million, closing on a date of no later than March 31, 2018.
The sale of the land, and subsequent plans for seniors, affordable housing, again delivers on the vision by Pelham Town Council for the award-winning East Fonthill secondary plan.
“The Parkhill project is exactly the type of service we hoped the East Fonthill area would provide,” said Mayor Dave Augustyn. “The sale of the lands in this area is part of the plan that was set forth by Council at the beginning of the term and we are very pleased to deliver on it.”
East Fonthill showcases the innovative, community-focused, and much-needed amenities for Pelham residents.
Centrally-located, the available land in the area allow easy access to new stores and services and the Community Centre; itis linked by the new trail network and park system.
There is also the intention to link both Pelham Transit and Niagara Transit to the area.
In addition to the new seniors/affordable housing complex, East Fonthill is home to the new Pelham Community Centre and the Wellspring Niagara Cancer Support Centre, attracting new residents and businesses to one of Niagara’s most attractive areas.
