East Fenwick Community Design Workshop Planned
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 22, 2017
Pelham, ON – Members of the community are invited to the Community Design Options workshop on September 30, from 1-3 p.m. at Fire Station 2 in Fenwick, to discuss and provide input on the development of the East Fenwick Secondary plan.
In the summer of 2017, the Town of Pelham has launched a study to develop a community vision for the East Fenwick area defined by Balfour Street to the west, Memorial Drive to the north, Cream Street to the east and Welland Road to the south.
The purpose of the East Fenwick’s Secondary Plan study is to guide future growth and development in the area in a manner that takes into consideration the character of Fenwick and is consistent with Provincial, Regional and Local planning policies and legislation.
The Community Design Workshop session will commence with an introductory presentation to:
- the study’s objectives;
- the study's healthy and sustainable community design principles;
- ideas received to date; and
- an overview of the draft community design options developed for the session.
The presentation will be followed by a working session intended to obtain your input on the draft concept ideas put forward.
“Community engagement is an important part of the developing the Secondary Plan for East Fenwick and we look forward to working with the community during this workshop”, said Barbara Wiens, director of community Planning and development.
Following this workshop, the consultant team will work collaboratively with Town staff and the East Fenwick Steering Committee to develop a preferred community plan which will frame the land use policy and the future development of the area.
