Art Committee launches call for Artists for Culture Crawl workshops
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 25, 2021
Pelham, ON – As part of this year’s first Pelham Culture Crawl, the Town of Pelham’s Art Advisory Committee has an open call for artists who work in various mediums to provide interactive workshop experiences.
The workshops will be launched in October as part of the Pelham Culture Crawl event, which aims to connect Niagara area artists and the community. The workshops will be available for community members to take part in, and experience the arts first hand.
“The open call allows artists to share their talents and provide a unique workshop experience,” said Stephanie Yole, culture and community enhancement programmer. “The Culture Crawl is another way to connect the community with the talented artists in Pelham and Niagara.”
Proposals are encouraged from all artist mediums ranging from fine art, theatre, photography, mixed media productions, music, dance, to writing. The Pelham Art Advisory Committee will review all applications and make the selection for the workshop presenters. Applicants can enter more than one submission and must be received by the committee not later than August 31, 2021. Selected applicants will be notified, and will be provided with a workshop presenter fee and materials cost for participants.
Applicants must be from the Niagara Region, and priority will be given to artists who are Pelham residents. Applicants must be 18 or older or have parent/guardian consent. Artists with disabilities, visible minorities and Indigenous Artists are encouraged to apply.
Culture Crawl is made possible through the funding support from the Niagara Investment in Culture Program provided by the Niagara Region. For more information, visit www.pelham.ca/arts
