Catherine Nichols-Dickinson of 387 Canboro Road is this month’s recipient of the Pelham Beautification Committee’s Thank You Card initiative. Catherine and her husband Laverne Dickinson, have resided at this address for the past 15 years.

Over the years Catherine has spent many hours fixing up her gardens and beautifying the house with seasonal decorations. Not to sit around and be idle during these past few covid months, Catherine turned her skills to carpentry. She built window boxes from pallet crates, a log deer, as well as bird feeders and squirrel houses from scrap boards.

Last year an owl took up residence in one of the squirrel houses in her back yard. Catherine’s love for animals resulted in her building a large enclosed wire-mesh, multi-room cat house which attaches to a cozy barn with a small cat door for easy entry/exit. Catherine is a big proponent of catch, neuter and release which was going really well until she fell in love with each of the cats she rescued. Over 10 cats now reside at her feline abode. Congratulations to Catherine for her beautification accomplishments and attention to animal welfare! And thank you to Tanya for suggesting a very deserving recipient through the committee’s webpage.
